چکیده

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the most common acute infectious diseases. To date, incidence CAP among children was decreased significantly worldwide, mainly due to increasing use effective preventive measures. Nevertheless, remains a cause childhood morbidity and mortality. Pneumonia may develop at any age, but often it occurs in young children, who are more likely have severe course pneumonia. Currently, early diagnosis prognosis disease severity an urgent issue. It found that, cases, panel conventional biomarkers, including number leukocytes, procalcitonin, CRP not sufficient for pediatric CAP. There demand new biological markers which, along with clinical evaluation, improve diagnostics management thus reducing risk adverse outcomes associated this disease. Such could be cytokines, which active participants pathogenesis. The aim study determine level several cytokines blood serum assess changes cytokine profile depending on patient’s age included 117 aged 1 18 years confirmed by X-ray examination. comparison group 28 healthy did or other signs respiratory viral infection time examination, being free chronic pathology requiring outpatient observation. A were determined quantitatively serum, i.e., IL-1β, IFNγ, IL-2, IL-4, IL-6, IL-10, TNFα, IFNλ2 (IL-28A), IFNλ3 (IL-28B), IL-8, MCP-1, IL-17AF, GM-CSF using test systems based “sandwich” method solid-phase ELISA peroxidase labeling. As result, that content higher community-acquired levels certain e.g., varied patients, thus, probably, reflecting degree immune system activation different groups.

Clinical profile of recurrent community-acquired pneumonia in children

BACKGROUND The aim of this case-control study was to analyse the clinical characteristics of children with recurrent community-acquired pneumonia (rCAP) affecting different lung areas (DLAs) and compare them with those of children who have never experienced CAP in order to contribute to identifying the best approach to such patients. METHODS The study involved 146 children with ≥2 episodes of...

Community-acquired pneumonia in children.

Community-acquired pneumonia is a potentially serious infection in children and often results in hospitalization. The diagnosis can be based on the history and physical examination results in children with fever plus respiratory signs and symptoms. Chest radiography and rapid viral testing may be helpful when the diagnosis is unclear. The most likely etiology depends on the age of the child. Vi...

Community-acquired pneumonia in children.

Community-acquired pneumonia (CAP) is one of the most common infections encountered in pediatrics, with an annual incidence of approximately 40 cases per 1000 children in North America. Despite its frequency, CAP in children remains difficult to diagnose, evaluate, and manage because many pathogens may be responsible, co-infections occur frequently, clinical features may vary widely, and labora...

Flow Cytometric Determination of Neutrophil CD64 (nCD64) in Children with Community Acquired Pneumonia

Background The expression of CD64 in neutrophils (nCD64) has shown utility in the diagnosis of sepsis. The aim of this study was to evaluate the diagnostic value of neutrophil CD64 in pneumonia as an early marker for infection and correlate its level with the outcome of...
